Gwen has taken on life as a two-career woman for most of her life. For nearly 20 years she was a passionate schoolteacher by day; her students knowing she was serious about helping them succeed academically and emotionally. She was even named Washington Elementary School District's "Employee of the Month" in February, 2004.
Now that the afternoon school bell no longer rings, Gwen has stepped into a wide range of ministry opportunities through Chapel Bellavista.
You’ve got to be detail oriented to manage life on Gwen’s terms. She’s been an excellent organizer and leader throughout life. Such discipline still allows her to enjoy daily reading, usually a good mystery, and a TIVO loaded with episodes of her favorite shows for weekends.
A serious back injury has made Gwen health conscious and physically motivated. She has learned a lot about nutrition and effective exercise trends, but gives credit to the power of prayer to get her through.
Gwen counts relationships as her greatest blessings in life. Regular phone calls, emails and visits with her parents, three brothers and their families keep them close. They have a family web site that is constantly updated. Add to all this, a happy marriage, a great faith in God and you know what gives Gwen Waring such a sincere smile.
